continuation of cancellation of contract

Sooooo, after 4 more days and probably another 20 phone calls to this company, I still have a contract on my phone number. I have heard every possible excuse, from supervisors being in meeting or on the phone, them phoning me and me not answering up till they are waiting for my service provider to confirm cancellation. And after all of that bull **** and wasted money on phone calls I still get told every day that it will be cancelled within 24 hours. When will this ever be over and sorted out? It is the most pathetic and rediculous company I have ever delt with.
