Blue label connect misleading - Loyal Edgars promotion
So I received a call from blue label connect earlier this year. Stating as a valued customer of Edgars I am being presented with a promotional package which will allow me to buy airtime and 3gb of data at discounted prices. Stated I will receive a sms with a link where I can purchase the same.
Agreed to receive it as the discounted prices sounded good should i wnat to purchase the same.
Never received the sms, and after two months Edgars notifies me that my account is in arrears. After almost a month Jason from blue label phoned me and played me the recording 3 times.
Stating I should have asked about any charges and that they won’t be refunding me the fees charged as I should have asked if there would be charges.
The call was misleading in that it was mentioned that I would receive a link (never did) althou Jason wanted to send it to me yesterday during the call. It places one under the impression that once you receive the link you will be able to buy the products at the discounted prices. Not be charged on one’s Edgars account!
Besides that the promised vouchers and sms was never sent.
I have laid a complaint at the credit ombud, and will take this as far as needed. Not to get the refund but to stop other people of being misled in the same way! The phone call received and what was stated is totally different to the outcome.
