Blue Label Connect - *****ing funds via RCL/ Makro
Unrecognised R300 monthly charges and dismissive customer service
Consumers, please check your Makro account statements carefully for subscription charges you do not recognise.
I recently discovered a recurring R300 charge from Blue Label Connect on my Makro account. When I queried it, I was told it was for a “tech subscription” that I allegedly signed up for via SMS in August 2025. I do not recognise knowingly agreeing to this subscription or authorising these recurring charges.
To make matters worse, I found the Blue Label Connect staff dismissive when I tried to get answers. My calls were repeatedly ended while I was still trying to resolve the matter. Being treated this way when questioning charges against my own account is unacceptable.
Blue Label Connect has said it will investigate, but the matter remains unresolved. I want clear evidence of the alleged agreement: the original SMS, my alleged acceptance, and proof that the monthly cost and permission to charge my Makro account were clearly disclosed and accepted.
I expect Blue Label Connect to stop further billing, provide a complete breakdown of the charges, and refund all amounts for which it cannot establish valid authorisation. Any related interest charged to my account must also be addressed.
Simply saying “we will investigate” is not enough without a proper written response and a firm resolution date. I expect accountability, respectful customer service and a clear explanation of how this happened.
I will update this review once the matter has been resolved.

Thank you for your response and for escalating this matter to senior management.
I note that the investigation is underway. However, please confirm in writing:
That the disputed subscription has been cancelled and no further charges will be submitted to my Makro account.
When I will receive the original SMS offer, the alleged acceptance and evidence that I authorised the recurring R300 charge.
The total amount charged since August 2025 and whether any associated interest has been incurred.
When I can expect the investigation outcome and a decision on my refund request.
I have never received any of the vouchers supposedly associated with this subscription. Please provide records showing when and how these vouchers were sent, the destination cellphone number or email address, and whether any have ever been redeemed. If your records show redemption, please provide the dates and details so that I can verify whether that use was mine.
My preferred resolution remains a refund of any charges for which valid authorisation cannot be established. Alternatively, if you propose resolving this through vouchers, please confirm whether you can resend or reissue vouchers covering the full value deducted from my account, with a fresh validity period and clear redemption instructions. Any voucher settlement must first be agreed with me and must not be treated as proof that I authorised the original subscription.
I also expect the review of my customer service complaint to address the dismissive treatment and repeated ending of my calls while I was seeking assistance.
Please provide a substantive written response and a firm resolution date within five business days. My cancellation request does not acknowledge that I authorised the subscription or withdraw my dispute over previous charges.
