Calling place of employment requesting personal info

My office was called by Blake Associates requesting our switchboard to give them my information ans ID number and confirm if I work there. How the F@!$ IS THIS LEGAL ?!?!?! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND NO RIGHT TO ASK FOR MY INFORMATION. When my wife called them they refused to speak with her and when she requested an email address of where POA could be sent for her to speak with them and handle whatever it is, she was given attitude and the run around. I want someone from this *********** place to remove my work number as it is wrong and not allowed to harass me at my place of employment and i want someone to call MY WIFE as she handles and deals with everything!! I don't want to struggle with stupid, *********** people !! I am stating this out right, call MY WIFE and NOT me! Her number will be listed in my profile.
