Worst experience ever

Bought a Bissell Little Green Proheat spot cleaner from Amazon in March 2024. Used it for the first time today (I’d been ill for months prior hence not using the product). It started smoking less than 2 minutes after I started cleaning a spot on my carpet. Amazon refuse to help as their “warranty” is 30 days. I called Bissell international and they refused to honor the 2year warranty as it apparently only applies in the USA and Canada. Their local agent, Legend Housewares, is unable to assist with the warranty, but offered me a trade-in at 20% of the retail value of the product.
