Bike Addict and Assos
I recently bought a pair of ASSOS Ultraz Gloves for R 2,690 and after trying them in the Cradle once I realized that these gloves do not keep my hands warm as they claim. I then made contact with both Wayne and Charl at Bike Addict explaining that I am prepared to exchange the gloves for a warmer pair. Their response is that I cannot exchange the gloves if it has been worn. I explained that I did wear a runners pair of gloves under the new Assos gloves, but also asked how am I supposed to evaluate the gloves when the claim online clearly states that the gloves is made for the winter? My advice - 1. DONT buy online as you have no support or recourse from either Bike Addict or ASSOS. 2. Buy from your local shop 3. Please make sure that when you purchase warm winter gloves that you do NOT wear them to determine whether they can withstand the cold, as claimed. Not sure how you will determine this, but this is the suggestion from Bike Addict.
Totally absurd I know, but going forward I do not feel comfortable to purchase from Bike Addict although I have done so on a number of occasions, but feel if their policy is only to cash in at the expense of their customers, then I am out no matter their pricing as this means that we as consumers are not protected.
