Empty promises and Faulty Bike
I am extremely dissapointed In Big Boy Randfontein ( The new one that opened) and The owner. For Legal purposes I will not use his name.
I bought a new Bike from him Via Finance on the 16th March 2020.
The weekend before the Finance was approved me and my Father in law decided to go to take a drive to his store and have a look at the bike as we have only seen it in the webiste etc.
Upon arriving he was very pleasant and welcoming, he invited us into the store and we had pleasant conversations. When it came to handling business and answering serious questions he had all the right answers.
There is a statement that He as the owner made that sold the bike to me immediately. He said no matter what or where if there is any problems he will come and sort out the iasue if there were any. He even told us about a light he went and fixed ans this was not even a bike bought at his dealership.
Becuase I have to travel to Hartebee****rt and Midrand with The bike we askes him what If there are any issues on those routes. He promised that he will come assist ans even take the client to the desired destination.
As I am employed at a school I only travelled a few times with the bike to Midrand as we were aproaching the lockdown. I had a total of 230km on the bike.
During lockdown I decided to take the Bike around the block to ensure the battery does not go flat etc. As I was taking it around the block I heard this loud banging and clicking. After checking we found that the chain is very loose and it poses a danger to me if I had to go back to work. This was a Tuesday.
On the Friday I decided to go to his business and see If he can come out to have a look when he has the chance as I understand there are retrictions. Im in Krugersdorp and he is in Randfontein and so forth.
When We engaged in conversation and I explained the issues the bike has he immediately for no reason became defensive and rude, he then asked me how many km is on the bike. I told him 230km, he then rep****, I thought You go to work and Back with it?? I was not sure what to make of the statement, was he thinking im manipulating the km or Is he suprised at the km, is it to little for the chain to be loose, I dont know.
At this point I also became irritated as he said If there is anything wrong he will come and fix it. He then proceeded to tell me that He will not come to me, I have to bring the bike to him. I again explained That the bike cannot be on the road with a loose chain, it puts me and others in danger. He insisted I bring it.
I then got intouch with HO of Big Boy and they gave me 2 options. Take the bike to him on my 500km service or to a dealer closer and be charged for it. I told them I am not happy that these are my only options and that this matter needs to be reolved. So Big boy head office sent my details to a dealer closer to me to do the 500km service thats aupposed to be free will now be charged.
Today I sent a very formal whatsapp to the owner expressing my dissapointment and that he is not doing business fair and I got the hands clapping emojies back with a message saying that the last time he hears from me is when I complained that he gave me a bike to ride out of his shop with NO oil. Oh I forgot to mention when I called him about this he told me that I the customer is not allowed to put oil in my bike, I must take it to the dealership and he must put in oil. Also Phoned HO to confirm and this was again just one of his lies.
He also gave me a call telling me that I dont know who he is and he is not a child. But whats sad is that this is not even supposed to be a big deal, why is he making it one and having a snotty attitude?
