Issues with car bought at VW

We bought a car from Bidvest McCarthy VW Witbank commercial and we were told it was taken for service and evaluation but the service light was on the day they handed over to us and they told us it will go away. It never went away and Shakes keeps telling us to switch the car on and off. He did not even give us the Dekrsa certificate as well. The car seems like it has not been serviced which means VW is lying to us and the car needs to be proper serviced. The brakes are now even not working and it has not been a month.
