Terrible Customer Service

Audi Menlyn - terrible after sale service

I went to Audi Menlyn Pre-Owned in October 2025 and paid 50% of the price in cash deposit and the rest of the price under finance from Bidvest McCarthy, the service was amazing. When I drove out of the dealership the car only had 5000km on. I took the car for it’s first service to Audi Menlyn in April of 2026, there was a child lock fault which was not resolved after the service and the tyre valves weren’t put back onto the tyres furthermore, the car was recalled for a battery fault.

Today I am sat without a car. I drove back from Lesotho with my 2025 Audi Q2 with no issue, I stopped in Potchefstroom to drop a friend at home and a ‘Start system failure’ notification popped up on the dashboard and would not stop showing or beeping. I decided not drive further and booked a hotel for the night. The following morning I phoned Audi Menlyn they gave me the number of the towing company who delivered amazing service. Audi Menlyn failed to do a courtesy follow-up call to check if I got the help I needed or if I was safe. My car got towed from Potchefstroom to Vereeniging and I was told it would take 7-10 working days to get information back on the car as there are other cars before mine, which I completely understand. I had to then rent a car to get back to Pretoria.

Today, Sunday 28 June 2026, I went to Audi Menlyn to enquire about a courtesy car as the Audi website states it depends on the delearship and owner. I got to the pre-owned section and there was a man standing outside smoking a cigarette who asked me what he can help with, while still standing in the parking lot and smoking, I told him what had happened and asked about a courtesy car. He said they do not do courtesy cars, it’s end of financial year and it’s a Sunday. After finishing his cigarette he invited me inside took my details and said the manager should be back tomorrow and he will phone me. I then left with no further information. My parents always received courtesy cars from Mazda and Dodge if the car was in for some sort of fault. I am shocked that a well known and respected brand like Audi apparently doesn’t care about customer service after a sale.

October 2025, I thought I would drive Audi for the rest of my life but this whole experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
