False Advertising

If I can recommend that no clients purchase from Bid or Buy. I have had a few bad experiences with wrong goods being delivered, items broken, etc but this last experience has really left a sour taste in my mouth and I’m sharing this to help others avoid getting in this unpleasant and uncalled for situation.

About a month ago I saw an item listed on Bid or Buy and it clearly stated the item was a new product. I was the winning bidder and was excited to receive my new item, only to find the item was scratched and second hand.

So I contacted Bid or Buy right away to inform them, to which I was first informed that I needed to send the item back to the seller and to pay for the courier costs. When I queried as to why I should have to pay for something that clearly wasn’t my doing, they got in touch with the seller and asked the seller to make an arrangement for collection. However when the seller did not arrange a collection, I called into the manager to address this and was informed they will get the seller to refund me my money. Numerous emails was sent to the seller with no reply. I then called in again and was told that the had some funds ready to be released to the seller and will not release it but instead will refund me my money and claim back from the funds they owe to the seller.

Last week Monday I received an email that a claim for my refund will be processed within 72 hours, to which I had no response. I then received an email today that said the seller had to come and collect the goods. I phoned into the manager to query where my refund was and I was informed that they couldn’t process my claim because I still have the item and the item first needs to be sent back to the seller or I had to take the seller to consumer counsel to report them. Since I was told that Bid or Buy do not have the required tools in order to do so and do not have any buyer protection in a case like this.

This is absolutely pathetic service and I would not recommend anyone make use of them to purchase goods. Please go to the store directly to make sure you get what you are paying for. Because once Bid or Buy have your money, you won’t see it again.
