Claim Case Won, BoB refuse to payq

After being substantially ********** by a seller named Hannah, I filed a claim for a Laptop that was faulty from the second it was switched on. The full burden of proof was lumped on me. Even when the seller **** about the most easily disproved facts. I was asked by BoB to spend more time and money. After an endless run around I eventually won the case, And BidOrBuy confirmed they would refund only R1,000 due to the seller rating. When I purchased the product, the check out process lead me straight through and I was then contacted by the seller for payment (something ONLY advanced sellers may do) i then paid. <br> Then after confirming again I would be paid out, I was later told that since I had paid the seller directly I wouldn't be paid out the claim agreed to. Ignoring the CPA provision for the right to redress, and section 22 of the ECT act - which states that an agreement is not without legal force even of concluded via data messages like email. The agreement is in effect at the time the offer was made and agreed to. BidOrBuy have their own set of rules which they only apply to the law when it suits them. Not to mention that it not my mistake that they don't enforce their rules.

Hello GarinR,

Thank you for your post.

The Buyer Protection Program(BPP) is offered as an added value service, provided the transaction(s) meet the criteria , like any standard insurance product.

Unfortunately yours did not meet the basic criteria and was declined This has been communicated to you on a number of occasions.

At NO point during the investigation and subsequent correspondence, were you assured or guaranteed a claim payout .

Kind regards
