Bidorbuy at its best!

Good day

I have been using bidorbuy for the past 4 years. Recently i bought a Iphone 4s on bidorbuy, but when i received it, it was blacklisted. Now first the seller did not want to accept the item for return. as it was sold as is. (It was not specified as blacklisted). So i contacted bidorbuy customer relation. they sent the seller a nice email urging him to do the refund.

So the seller did agree to the refund. So i asked Karabo Matsebatlela in customer relations the following.

1. Is this purchas cover by Buyers Protection? (She asked if i have received the item) I answered : yes
She said : No It is not covered.

2. I asked her if Bidorbuy guarantees the that the seller will refund me if i send him the Item?
Telling her that how can i trust a seller that is selling ****** goods.
I would like a refund and then I will send him the phone.
Dont buyers pay sellers beforehand
So why must i ship it back to him without being sure i will receive my refund.
So it can loos the funds, the phone and shipping fees?
Karabo did not answer this.

3. In my last email I asked her if bidorbuy condones the selling of ****** items on bidorbuy?
Still waiting for a reply.

Best regards

Hello andrevj1,

There are many reasons why a phone can be locked on an IMEI number level. So it is difficult and to just claim what you are claiming outright.

The transaction is not a buyer protection claim at the moment as the item has been received and you claiming that it is not as described. At this stage you would need to send the item back to the seller in order to get the refund or for the item to be covered under to buyer protection program.

We do not support the sale or purchasing of counterfeit or ****** goods so should provide us with proof to substantiate your claims we will be more than happy to take further action on the account of the seller.

So to proceed, inform the seller that you are not happy with your purchase and that you feel the item is not as described.
Ask him for the return address and have the item returned via registered mail or courier using similar to what was used to deliver the item to you.
Once the item is returned and the seller has collected it and you have proof of that then the seller has to refund the purchase. Should they refuse to do the refund then you have grounds to file a buyer protection claim.

Regards,

Johan
