Broken chair legs
I did a lot of research and comparison of quotes as I needed to move from Cape Town to Knysna AND put all of our (mostly brand new) furniture into storage in George for 6 months. Bidulphs came in as not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. I was extremely happy with the packing of the special items and the service to pick up in Cape Town was exceptional. The problem came in during the storage as they must have squashed the leather sofa and 2 armchairs into palettes/ boxes and the legs of our new couch AND both chairs got broken off. Bidulphs were apologetic and tried to fix the legs in George but it was not done properly and they are still wonky. I wish I had used Elliot’s, Pickfords or Stuttafords as I don’t think this would have happened. I was Very disappointed to wait 6 months and then when the furniture arrived, it was broken, they must have been aware of it as the leg of the armchair was found in a drawer of another piece of furniture. This, to my mind is not acceptable.
Its pleasing to hear you chose us after a lot of research in the marketplace due to our positive experiences with our marketing and sales admin processes.
Also that our Cape Town teams performed exceptionally well. Its not great to hear that 3 items of furniture had damage.
We can confirm there was approximately 111 items on your inventory and due to the fact there are inherent risks when moving, damages can happen (transit CPT, into store and back out again).
We note you did not take out all risk insurance but our GRG office did still take responsibility and repair the delicate furniture accordingly.
