Biddulphs is the worst moving company
We contacted Biddulphs in April for a quote, received one but needed an agent to come out and confirm we had completed the form correctly and quoted for the correct amount of space. Agent came out, Paul Oliver. He had measured my 2 industrial Sewing machines and told me they need to be crated. Cool. We received our quote and forwarded it onto the necessary parties responsible for the payment. Contacted him again around June(due to some complications) to re quote. Which he did. Contacted him again regarding our moving date in August. He then states that he needs to re quote. Fine. He did it. But my crating was not on the quote. When I asked him, he claimed he couldn't remember. This was the first problem. He then requotes and adds the crating. Thankfully the company didn't moan and we're still happy to pay. We then needed to add storage and a week later date to our move as we could move into the new place on the original date. He then quotes for storage and insurance again, which we pay. We again confirm the new dates with him via email. Second problem occurs: the day of the move the company sends 2 guys to pack a 4bedroom(1 study). They are slow and take hours in the kitchen. By 6pm they are packing up to leave and not even half the house has been packed. We are furious and then get told that the next day we would have a full team. They arrive around 10am,with 4 guys and a carpenter. By 12pm, they have run out of tape! They use up my own tape without even asking. We do not know this until 3pm when they are lounging around. We are stressed as the new owners would have the house the next day but it seems we might not even be out by then. Numerous calls later we are told someone is on the way with tape. At 4.30 finally the elusive tape arrives. Packing begins. My husband and I are quite fed up as they are not consistent and finishing up room by room but instead jumbling up everything. Things we asked not to be packed and packed. Despite us going through this with them on the first day. We pack up some of our own groceries which they insisted could not be packed. Which was asked initially during the quote and were told we could take everything without a problem. Furniture was mishandled but we were told not to worry as it would be wrapped. They finish up eventually at 8.45pm. Finally we think we are done with the mishaps. The following week I call them to find out what time to expect them to deliver on the 2nd of October. Surprise, we are not scheduled to receive our delivery on that specific date. I am then told that they could deliver on the 5th,and asked if that's convenient. I am blunt and told them that that is not my problem and that we expect delivery on the 2nd. As that was discussed and on email. They start to go back and forth blaming each other. Which again, not my problem. Eventually I am told they would deliver between 12 and 1pm.the next day we are then told between 1 and 2.then at 3pm,they were supposedly on their way. They deliver at 4.20pm. Majority of my furniture is broken and unwrapped, just coming out of the crates as is. they finish up at 8.30pm and then tell us, so you have one more crate but they will deliver tmw(sat). The entire day flew by and we heard nothing from them. On the Monday 5th October, again no calls, so I called to enquire. Then I'm told we can be squeezed in around 11am. I have no choice, and tell them yes deliver since you already breached the contract date. The driver arrives at 10.30 and delivers the last crate. Now for the past week we are struggling to get any information *** about the insurance claim. He takes his time to answer emails or calls. He is the most useless person I have encountered and always passing the buck on to someone else when he is the point fo contact for Biddulphs for us. Never use this company, they undercut other quotes to attract you as a customer but they don't give a **** about your goods or you.
