Biddulphs insurance claim for damaged items unresolved after almost 2 months

I work in construction, so my family and I must relocate quite often. I have used several moving companies in the past to move my furniture. At the end of March, we were to relocate from Hartenbos to Polokwane. For the first time Biddulphs came to load our furniture on 25 March 2020 (the day before lock down). Our move was transported to their Johannesburg branch and the truck was parked there for the entire lock down period. On Friday 1 May 2020 I received a phone call from the George Biddulphs manager telling me that our furniture can be transported, and we can finally relocate. The truck with the furniture arrived in Polokwane on Monday 4 May 2020. After we started to unpack, we noticed that some off the boxes were wet, we quickly unpacked the boxes to find our clothes were wet but nothing was damaged, however my wife had to wash the clothes. As the unpacking progressed, we found the one wooden bunk bed was badly damaged. It looked as if someone used a hammer to dismantle the foot and head ends of the bed. This caused marks on the wood and the one wooden joint was broken off. We also found that due to the wet condition in moving truck my son's wooden toy chest and wooden compactum had molded. As both items are made from wood the mold was inside the wood and could not be removed. The compactum also had water damage to the compactum top. I requested a claim form from Biddulphs on 8 May 2020 and reminded them on 14 May 2020 to send the form. After I received the claim form, I completed its per their instructions and send it to Biddulphs on 15 May 2020. I explained that we had difficulty in getting quotations due to covid-19. On the 18 May 2020 I send internet links off similar item and their values to the person dealing with my claim. Then all went quite from Biddulphs side. Then without warning we receive a phone call one Saturday that Biddulphs are at our house and want to collect the item that was damaged. We had to rush back home and give the items to them. Then all went quite again. I send an email to the contact person that was handling this claim on 9 June 2020 asking what the progress was. I was told that the repair agent was waiting on parts, but he would receive it the following day (10 June 2020). Today is 3 July 2020 and I have not heard anything from Biddulphs in almost a month. In my 15 years of moving around this is by far the worst moving experience I have had with a moving company. Even if my claim is resolved today, I will not even consider getting a quote from Biddulph’s for my next move. This type of service in totally unexcitable to me!!!!
