Ford Again.....
In July of 2019 I purchased a Ford Figo from BB Menlyn Pretoria. They only had one in stock and due to needing a vehicle immediately as my Picanto had been written off in June, I bought this one. Naturally I looked at other vehicle brands too, but have always been a Ford *****. Until now. In October I realised the drivers window would not open, and had SERIOUS glitches. I promptly called the dealership and was told to bring it in the following day. No courtesy vehicle was offered. At the end of day I was informed that they had to order the part and to bring it back. I did so. Upon retrieval of afore said vehicle, a block drom the dealership, the window would not open. By the way, I cannot recall signing a job card, but may be so livid I cannot recall. Wonderful. Third time at the dealership I indicated the window rubber sealant had popped into the window and THAT too needed repairing. Great stuff. No courtesy vehicle. A BLOCK from the dealership, after the VERY arrogant youngster who works in service department had stood with his finger on the open close button for a good 10 minutes with a smug look on his face, Lo and behold, window would not open. Now the rubber had been pulled OUT of the door frame instead of replacing it, and in the process the paintwork had been damaged. Believe it. By now we were in November.....I needed a car of my own to drive in and thought, okay December's problem. Last week I called to inform them of my absolute disgust with their service. I was coolly told that bring December they were overbooked (makes you wonder right) and they could not accommodate me. Needless to say, I could not enter a mall parking area as window WOULD NOT OPEN to take a ticket. Do here I was, hopping out of car to retrieve ticket....people must have thought I am mad, then hopping back out to insert into machine to depart. And here.....here comes the ****er. Got home, checked ALL windows and just imagine.....back ones would open but not close. In addition the boot flap(hatchback -the flap which obscures your boot contents had ALSO broken. I promptly called dealership manager AFTER Calkins Neale Hill MD of Ford SA. Still waiting for that call back. When I mentioned this part to dealership manager, a courtesy vehicle (empty of fuel naturally) was supp****. Upon taking vehicle in, I was told he had already left for vacation. Whatever. The fines on courtesy vehicles if something happens beyond my control are ludicrous, so I cannot drive further than the shop. This vehicle was the only one they had in stock, thus was clearly used as demo for prospective buyers. Hence unnecessary faults. I would like a new vehicle 5 months after purchase with installments already paid deducted, thank you very much. I was informed they have a LEGAL RIGHT to fix first...hello? They had 3 chances for that already. The actual wording I want to use is inappropriate, but I am one VERY irate consumer.
