Loan Dispute

I took a loan along with credit life insurance with Bayport in 2013 and a few months later of paying a couple of instalments, then I lost my job and I informed them accordingly so they send a representative to meet with me in person to provide proof that I was no longer working. I met with the representative and submitted documents from my ex employer and a copy of my ID and I was expecting that the next thing that was going to happen is for the credit life which I had to settle my loan.

In 2016 Bayport Legal surfaced out of no where collecting the loan and trying to make payment arrangements and I was not working at the time so when I asked about the credit life that the loan had, they simply say they have never received it and funny enough when I asked the to email me the statement, credit life is there and to me I think they are just not happy that I only paid few times and I lost the job still owing a lot of money from my loan and to this day I still get numerous calls from Bayport and one of their staff Lindani Mchunu from Bayport legal department or collections even said to me "Voetsek" when we were shouting at each other as I was irritated with their constant calls.

I am taking this matter up to Credit Ombudsman and hoping I will stop getting multiple call every single day from Bayport. I know for a fact that consultants in financial institutions don't say anything to clients about credit life when they giving loans to client and some clients will be paying loans not even knowing that there is credit life on your loan just in case you lost your job and what they do, they just keep on checking on you and your circumstances change and that maybe you got the job again and they will start with payment arrangements once again.
