CASUAL WORKERS EXPLOITED AND NOT PAID THEIR SEPTEMBER SALARIES

This place is a nightmare to work for. They normally host functions and they do not have the workload capacity in terms of preparing and catering for these functions. They resort to sourcing and hiring casual staff. They work for long hours, sometimes more than 8 hours, their shifts are unreasonable, 14h00 till midnight and still expected to be at the kitchen as early as 5am, at the rate of R35/hour. Its very sad that these casual employees haven't been paid their September wages/salaries and today it the 14th October. And the company's pay date is the last day of the month. This company is takinf advantage of people because they know that SA is on high rate of unemployment and they are exploting people for they know they are in need. Battlefield Country Lodge in Dundee, what you are doing to people is not right and it is against the law, Labour Law is against this kind of treatment. Pay your casual workers their September salaries, just like you they have families and kids that look unto to them for support. If you cant afford casuals, then do not hire them, considering the fact that they are labouring hard, over long hours. This is inhumane, the least you can do is compensate them for the work done.
