Poor management

My visit to Battlefields Country Lodge and Restaurant this evening was extremely disappointing. At reception, I asked for directions to the restaurant and where to park. The receptionist asked a male staff member—wearing a kitchen hair net and with noticeable silver in his teeth—to assist me. I clearly heard her in Zulu instructing him to show us where to park, but he seemed to assume I wouldn’t understand and chose to ignore the request. Instead, he was rude, unfriendly, and completely dismissive, leaving me waiting without any assistance. When I eventually walked out, he stood staring at my friends and I in the car in a way that felt very unwelcoming. Only then did he come outside to offer help far too late. There was no apology, no respect, and no basic courtesy. His behaviour was highly unprofessional, disrespectful, and made us feel unwelcome, to the point that we left and spent our money elsewhere. It’s unfortunate because the place itself is beautiful and has great potential, but staff like this are driving customers away. And The new owner has made some beautiful changes to the appearance of the place. Even calling the venue was frustrating, as calls were answered and then cut off. We sincerely hope management takes action against this individual, as this level of service is completely unacceptable. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
