I bought a battery for my vehicle. Within the space of 2 3 weeks the battery started leaking acid down onto the cabling and electronic gearbox. I reported the incident to battery centre and they were quick to refund me for the money I bought the battery.

It costed me more than R3500 to towe my car about 200km to the dealer in Polokwane. The dealer diagnosed the car and picked that the battery leaked acid into the gearbox system. Traces of corroded area due to acid flow is clearly visible on the car. The dealer quoted R32 000 to fix the car.

A representative from battery centre in Polokwane asked me to send him pictures of the damaged parts and the report from the dealer so that he may send it to his suppliers.

Two weeks down the like a report came back from battery centre suppliers that their battery was tested to be and found to be perfect. They alleged that the report from the dealer is not correct.

I can confirm that even the day I took the battery back to battery centre, traces of acid flow were clear and visible. I ended up taking up a loan to pay the dealer because I needed my car as I use it to do my work.

I am so aggrieved and hurt in the manner which I feel like my rights as a consumer were trampled upon by Battery Centre Polokwane.

Please help me to get these ****s take responsibility of their faulty products which costed me such a huge damage to my vehicle.
