Failed battery within warranty period

I purchased a raylite efb 657 battery in Dec 2015. The battery recently would not hold charge and I had to charge frequently in order to use it. I called Chris from Battery Centre Polokwane and took it there on the 11/07/2017.

A gentleman there came to test my battery, before he could tell me what's wrong, he says it won't be covered by the warranty because of slight wear on one of the terminals. I was very surprised, this had never been mentioned to me prior when I purchased the battery. After the tests, it turns out that one cell was dead. I spoke to Chris and explained to him that the wear was from me having to remove, charge and reinstall the battery frequently. He refused to help saying the factory won't accept it. I then asked him to please have the factory person come a have a look at it because the wear was not significant. He said I should leave the battery with him. The guy from the factory will come and give me a call to discuss on the 12/07/2017.

No one called me. I called Chris and asked him why on the 13/07/2017, he said he asked the person from the factory to call me but they decided it was a No. I then asked him to arrange for me to collect the battery. He said he would give me call afterwards, I received no call.

I am quite disappointed at the service I received especially where first national batteries claim is a hassle free warranty claim. The reception at the store was negative and communication with me was dismal. I further went onto the website to check if there is anything which talks to wear and tear on the battery terminals which voids the warranty and could not find anything.
