I purchased a new Exide 622 battery from TASMAYA WHOLESALERS during last year. The battery was about 8 months old and was not holding its charge, so l put it on a fast charge and as l was standing watching the ammeter needle coming up, the battery suddenly exploded, spewing sulphuric acid all over me.
The battery failed due to an internal manufacturing fault called a \ dry burn\".
I returned the battery to Tasmaya Wholesalers last year but they instructed me to return it directly to the factory. However l could not find the factory and as l live on a plot in the Delmas area l did not have opportunity to look for the factory until January this year. When l did find the First National Battery factory, l was told by the receptionist to return it to Tasmaya Wholesalers. This l did and while there l met up with the First National Battery representavie, Eugene Radyn. He asked me to send him an email with all the details and he would follow it up. This l did but despite reminders l have heard nothing from him to date."
