Vehicle on service maintenance only
Hi Peter
On the 03/05/2019 I had my car serviced at Barons N1 City. The service of the vehicle entailed a full service and Cam belt change. Vehicle type Golf 6 TDI model 2012. I briefed Yolanda, the service adviser, about a water leak and asked if they could do a pressure test as well as a color coolant test, to detect where the leak originated. Later during the day I got call from Yolanda, advising me that my water pump has packed up. I then gave them the go ahead to fix, at all trust levels. I collected my vehicle after 2 days at Barons N1 City. At collection, Yolanda the service adviser briefed me that i should monitor the car for 3 days and monitor water levels as there might be a air lock in the system which should not have been if the system was bled for a professional company. The very next day after the service was done, I had too top up with water, as water levels dropped. On the third day, likewise. on the fourth day, likewise. I thus called Yolanda the service adviser on the 15/05/2019, notifying that after a week the car was still leaking water. She advised me to bring the car back. I returned the vehicle on the 17/05/2019. Later the day, I received a call from Yolanda, the service adviser, stating that the leak was coming from the oil cooler flange( I speak under correction regarding the name of the part mentioned). I was told that the part would be replaced, but I would need to carry the cost of R7400.00 in order to continue the fixing. I thus refused, reason being, that if the car was tested according to protocol, this would not have happened. I spoke to Rodney, the service manager, and he blatantly told me that they will not fix my vehicle unless I carry the costs of R7400.00 . I instructed him to leave the vehicle and I would collect it. Rodney the service Manager said to me that he will instruct Yolanda to park the vehicle outside for my collection. I asked to speak to the technician that initially worked on my vehicle on the 03/05/2019. I thus asked him if the pressure test and color color coolant test were run on my vehicle before determining the problem, his answer was, that no tests were carried out. My point is that, a part was replaced, which was not the issue, and yet the issue still remains unresolved. I thus advised the service Manager, Rodney, that i would take this matter further, as the service I was provided with, was unprofessional, and inadequate. Rodney the service Managers response was, you are welcome Mr Hector. I also requested the water pump that was removed and was told by Rodney, the service manager that it was dumped. I then told Rodney, that i needed the old water pump to have it tested and to determine if it was the pump that was leaking. I need this matter taken up very seriously as my vehicle is of utmost importance where my profession is concerned. If anything happens to my vehicle, due to Barons N1 City negligence, should they not carry the costs there of? Please Peter, i need your urgent assistance!
