Hide original message Good day On 16th June 2021 I had booked my car in for service at Barons N1City as I religiously do every year, on collection I was informed that the oil is mixing with water and I need to replace the cylinder. This came as a surprise to me and I said “but it has always been like that and I was never told that it is a problem only the petrol attendants would mention it when checking the oil and my response would be my car gets serviced at the reputable dealership so if there was a problem they would let me know” and I was told (dealership) that I must never put water or oil at the garage because it is done when I bring my car in for service.

The first time a petrol attendant mentioned it I was on my way to East London in 2013 he said “the dipstick shows that the oil is mixed with water” and the other times whenever they check my oil but the answer would always be if that was an issue I would be informed when my car goes for service” This continued and my dipstick was corroded/rusted over the years and eventually in 2021 it literary fell on the petrol attendant’s feet when he pulled it out, by God’s grace it did not fell in the cylinder. I replaced it(dipstick) in April or beginning of May this year. Now my question is why am I being informed now when I must cough up thousands of rands for something that could have been picked up years ago and corrected before the damaged was caused? Was a proper service ever done in my car over the years or was it just booked in, get a wash and maybe a massage if needed and I’m called to collect my car? I am very disappointed and sad to have trusted you with my car refusing offers over the years and companies bad mouthing you saying your service is expensive and it is not necessary but my answer would be “sorry I am a female working late shifts and I cannot afford to take my car to unreliable bush mechanics that do not have any guarantee” but look at where did that land me?

My request is that you book my car in, replace the cylinder and deal with your serviceman afterwards.

The second issue, you failed to comment or advice the visible paint that was peeling off on my car that could be rectified within a certain period of warranty but conveniently it was mentioned to me afterwards when the time had lapsed. I really need your quickest response regarding this matter.
