***** practice - over-charging diagnostic

<p> I bought a part (Crank Sensor) from Barons N1 City last year but it has gone faulty within a few months. I took the car back and in order for them to check that the part if actually faulty, they needed to charge me for the diagnostic.</p> <p><br />According to VW SA, this is proper procedure. However, they said they need to charge me 4.5 hours labour (around R5000) just to do the diagnositc. Furthermore, the diagnostic includes checking the Radio (yes, the Radio) which has nothing to do with the Crank sensor! What's worst is that even if he part of proven faulty, this diagnostic cost is not recoverable. So what's the point of the warranty?</p> <p> <br />In short, this is a ***** practice - stay away!</p>
