Selling of defect vehicles

I bought a 2005 BMW 120i at a supposedly reputable car dealership in Alberton. On the same day the car gave me problems. The vehicle could not accelerate further than 40ks an hour. I immediately contacted Pieter (sales) to inform him of this issue as I was reluctant to return the car. Two months later the car had more problems. I went to fill up my tank for a trip down to EC, and the tank spilled petrol. The car could not be filled passed half tank. I contacted Pieter and he booked the car in a month later at BMW-repairs. When the repairs were done I did not receive a log detailing what was fixed. I assumed the vehicle was fine. I did not fill up the tank though as I live close to where I work, and a full tank is only for long trips. Eight months down, I planned a trip to EC, the car still spilled petrol. I called Pieter again, he said it is not his problem as no one can guarantee 8 months on workmanship. I believe this problem was not resolved initially, as a person who drives less than 80ks a week would never cause damage that leads to a petrol tank issue. <br> STAY AWAY FROM NON-BMW 2ND HAND DEALERSHIPS IF YOU WANT A BMW THAT'S IN GOOD CONDITION. I learnt that lesson the hard way.
