Poor communication service and misinformed

Good Day to whom it may concern,

I'm a first time buyer at this company and believe it a massive one.

On the 10th October 2016 I've seen an advert on Gumtree for a Opel Utility Chevy bakkie for R89 850.00. I then immediately contacted the dealer as I was highly interested in having that bakkie for that price and I spoke to Mr Mike van Niekerk. He told me to put an amount of R 2 000.00 as an "HOLDING DEPOSIT". He also declared that I would have first preference to get the bakkie. Unfortunately the finance deal has been decline.

I was then contacted by a Lady called Vicky and she is the one dealing with finance I believe. We then discussed the matter leaving me with options, in the same breathe I've asked her what is going to happen to the deposit of R 2000.00 and her rep**** was, "you should speak to the consultant Who assisted you but I will inform him". Call has ended. I then left it as I was waiting on the call from the consultant. One day,2,3,4 days has passed and haven't heard of anyone without me contacting the dealer on the 13th, 14th, 15th and the 17th. I then decided to deposit the rest of the money in their account on the 18th October 2016 knowing that I'm getting the bakkie. I then went straight to the dealer just to confirm if it's reflecting and wanted to finalized all necessary paperwork.

I then dealt with Eric, Used car sales consultant, we then took the bakkie for a test drive as I got so excited of having it. Came back and was in the clouds. I've asked him when I'm going to get it and he told me that it normally takes 2 days for finalizing the papers and would be ready for collection. Once again I left it in his hands as the amount of the bakkie was been paid in full. I was expecting a call from Eric as to when it will be ready on the 18th October 2016 which never happened or before.

Once again on the 19th October 2016 I as the customer should follow up as to what's happening with the transaction to find out that Eric is not available. I've phoned back in 2 hours and finally I got hold of him. He then told me that he had escalated the query to his manager Rafique Firfirey. Immediately I was on the phone with Rafique with regards of the bakkie. We had a discussion as he told me that the bakkie is not available anymore. Shocked I was. He then said that Vicky the finance lady has sent an email stating that the customer is requesting his deposit back due to the declining of the financing. I can not recall mentioning that I want it back. I was then removed from the list of interest for the bakkie.

So I would love to know if you're not in a race of getting a bakkie or any other vehicle, why would you deposit R 89 500 in the company's account?

If one of the staff members at Barloworld GM Ferndale followed up or communicated with me I wouldn't of deposited that money. I've went the extra mile of getting the full amount just to find out I'm not getting anymore.

How can one not be informed and to find out afterwards it's gone???? Without knowing but you know that you're first in the line.

I feel like it's management responsibility to make sure that customers is called with the correct information.

I'm disgusted in the service I've received so far from Barloworld GM Ferndale Kuilsriver.
