Bad assistance on my Focus

I own a 2013 Ford Focus and still under warranty till 30May2017. I bought the car from Epson motors in Nigel in 2015 October. From January 2017 we started experiencing issues with the car with starting it. And of recent, the car was loosing power and was not picking up speed until it stopped completly and did not start. We got opinion from another dealer and they said issue is gearbox. We towed the car to Ford Barloworld on THursday the 16th March. Barloworld insisted they do their own checks, and they did. They said the car doesnt have gearbox issues nor clutch. They are still in good condition and there is nothing wrong with the car.The only thing that is amiss,is the software. We paid R750 to get the software updated and collected the car on Friday the 16th. THe very same evening when my husband drove the car,it gave him warning signs that the car is overheating. The next morning on saturday,we took the car back to Ford.THe lady there called Portia mentioned they will check it on Monday since it was weekend and noone was there to check the car.Monday became Wednesday.Wednesday ,we were told THursday.Thursday when myhusband when to Ford,it was clear the car was never checked. Instead ,we were told the technicians dont know what is really wrong with car. When the technician attempted to start the car,it didnt want to start. To this day, noone really knows exactly what is wrong with our Focus.

THis is very sad and pathetic, especially coming from a reputable dealer like Ford. We have bought and driven a number of brands before, but in my driving experience, have i seen such incompetence.Software issues cant affect the mobility of the car,but in this case,we were told it is a software issue.I am a Engineer by profession and I know the technical aspect and hydraulic systems of cars. In this case, i feel Ford Barloworld is really trying to stall their diagnosis till the warranty ofthe car lapses in May2017 and then only then will they tell us real issues of the car which could have been fixed by them. Overheating issues of the car and guttering issues mainly revolve around inefficiency around the cooling system of the car and gearbox issues respectively. And these are fundamental issues which I believe any technician is supposed to pick up when they are doing troubleshooting and investigations on car issues.

I want Ford SA to do their part as the mother body to solve this problem. Ford has many reputation issues and I ask myself, why continue dragging your brand in the mud instead of efficiently playing your part as the owners of the car brand to ensure it is back to the top records it used to own.
