My family and I went into the store intending on purchasing a toddlers bed with mattress for my Grandson. Firstly there was no-one in sight to assist us but then luckily I found a staff member to assist. We asked her for the price of the toddlers bed and she confirmed R999.00. While deciding which one we wanted, Dino, Cars, Paw Patrol or Spiderman, she carried on with what she was doing before being interrupted by me. Eventually I went to the Security Officer at the entrance to ask if/where there was anyone to assist us. Just then the store manager (if you can call him that) walked past. We asked him what height the Spiderman bed was and he opened the box to check the specs, which was not available. Anyway – we decided to go with the Spiderman bed and mattress to fit. I paid for the mattress. My daughter was about to pay for the bed when she was told by the teller that it is R1999.00. Shocked by the price, we explained that we were told it was R999.00 but no-one would listen. Eventually they phoned the manager and he told them over the phone that the price of R1999.00 was correct. After much frustration, we went to fetch the Paw Patrol box and when this was scanned, the price was R1299.00. We then asked for the manager. He came to the front of the shop and was fiddling with a s****** that was on charge – not very interested in our dilemma. The shop was getting full and the line for the tellers were getting long. Still the manager would not listen to us and when I asked him where he thinks I got the figure of R999.00 he told me he does not know. I explained the his staff member gave it to but he was rude and ignored me totally. I asked for the head office number and he politely rattled it off – I told him to write it down for me and that I would take the matter further – he did not care at all. Arrogant and rude much? We went to Game and bought the same bed for R970.00 (Spiderman). I will be taking this experience to Hello Peter and all other media avenues available to me.
