Victim of ***** by Avon

Yesterday (29/09/21) I received a call from a debt collector on behalf of Avon. I was told i owe Avon R2027. I called Avon to verify the debt as i have never opened an account with them. To my surprise there is an account opened with my ID number but the name of the account is different to mine and the person resides in another province where the goods were delivered. I asked for more details but i was not assisted other than being told i have to email an affidavit, proof of residence, certified ID copy (which they do not request before opening the account) and a blank page with 6 signatures to their ***** division. I decided to do a credit check and boom the Avon account appears that i opened it in April 2021. The required info i haven't sent as i do not trust the company with my personal info. I asked for an appointment and i was told ***** division personnel work from home.
