Defective Handbag Zip and Uninterested Representative
In late October 2023, my wife bought a 'Everyday Handbag' from the local representative. Within a couple of months, the one zip and pulled away from the material backing of the zip itself (not just the stitching). We reported this to the agent, who said there was no warranty and we must take it, at our own expense to a cobbler to have it repaired. I questioned the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) was informed from the area manager that the CPA does not come into effect as the product only comes with a 2 month warranty. Are Justine's Terms & Conditions above the law? All I am looking for is an amicable solution, but neither the agent nor the area manager are interested in even looking at the defect before hiding away behind 'policy statements' with no basis as far as I am concerned. I would really appreciate an answer so that the general public can be well informed when buying these products.
