Our Avianto Wedding Nightmare: A Warning to Future Couples When we booked Avianto for our wedding, we paid a premium R69.5K (Updated to rectify the venue hire fee paid to Avianto) venue hire fee for what is essentially an empty shell. That fee covered little more than the venue, tables, chairs, and a coordinator. We then paid an additional R13 200 for waiters and barmen, plus R850 per guest for food and welcome drinks for our 150 guests and booked 25 hotel rooms for the night. Living in Bela-Bela also meant countless hours on the road for planning meetings. Looking back, every trip feels like a complete waste. For that kind of money, you expect professionalism, respect, and above all, proper security. Instead, Avianto appeared to have a single car guard responsible for multiple parking areas spread across the property. On the morning after our wedding, we discovered that both of our bridal vehicles had been targeted in an attempted theft inside Avianto's supposedly secure, card-operated boom-gated parking lot. The only reason the vehicles weren't ****** was because the gear locks held and one battery died during the attempt. This security breach turned the morning after our wedding into a police investigation (SAPS case number available). While dealing with police, we were unable to supervise the breakdown of our décor, resulting in expensive faux flowers disappearing from the venue. Although Avianto claims to have a storage policy, they failed to respond to our calls and emails requesting for information as to what happened to our Faux Wisterias. They later claimed the décor company collected the missing items but were unable to provide CCTV footage or any substantial evidence to support this. The security failure also raised serious questions. How were ********s planning to remove two ****** vehicles through a card-controlled exit? We requested security footage from the boom gates and venue exterior, completed the lengthy paperwork Avianto required, and submitted everything promptly. From that moment onward, they ignored us completely. We never received the footage or any explanation. Unfortunately, this disregard extended beyond security. My only non-negotiable request, repeated throughout planning and again three times on the wedding day, was for the outdoor umbrellas to remain closed during our ceremony. The coordinator ignored this entirely, leaving multiple guests' faces obscured in our once-in-a-lifetime wide group photo. More than eight months later, nothing has been resolved. After four months of silence, management finally held a telephonic meeting with us, where they agreed to investigate a public liability insurance claim for our damaged vehicles, reconcile our corkage fees against credited accommodation, and refund our outstanding deposit. Since that conversation, another four months have passed with complete silence. Emails and calls have gone unanswered, there has been no update on the insurance claim, the corkage reconciliation remains unresolved, and they are still withholding our deposit. Once Avianto had our money, the after-sales service appeared to disappear. We have been left dealing with damaged vehicles, missing property, ruined wedding photographs, and outstanding refunds, leaving us with no option but to investigate & proceed with formal legal action. No couple should have to spend their first months of marriage fighting for answers instead of treasuring memories.

Christmas lunch 2025 (table 29): good food, great ambience, BUT very poor service. We had a waitress who confessed to know nothing about the menu, drinks (she did not even what a draft beer is, she did not know whether she could serve tea or coffee - when she eventually brought the tea, she had already poured milk inui it), she did not know what the "bill" was when we calked for it. She brought our last order in take away packs even though it was still 15:20 and when we asked she simply she doesn't know why. All in all very bad service but great venue and good food Manager on the floor was alerted and she said we can call her if there's anything that is not going ok but she disappeared and the other waiters assigned to other tables were not willing to help our waitress
