Sub standard funeral service - AVBOB
Had funeral during lock-down. AVBOB - Springs, Gauteng was responsible for the burial service. Copies of all required documents where handed to the beneficiary with no explanation on procedure during lock-down. Government Gazette was studied and internet guidelines used to get permits and all. On day of funeral the casket with body was transported to the cemetery with a combi which also pulled a trailer, even transporting other workers within. On arrival at the gate the driver for AVBOB had no documentation to enter the cemetery and had to contact his office to arrange and deliver at cemetery. By the time the documents arrived the family members attending had to be delayed at the gate as the grave was not finish and prepared. The hears arrived and the casket was moved from the combi to the hears by AVBOB workers and the grave diggers. AVBOB allowed 50 people to attend as per government regulation but only prepared 1 x Gazebo with 15 chairs. The service was lead by own arranged pastor and when family members started to close the grave they were informed that this cannot be done by hand, that other funeral is scheduled and needs to be conducted. The TLB closed the grace. Every and any person could enter AVBOB AND DO ARRANGEMENTS AND OR ANYTHING WITHOUT THE BENEFICIARY"S APPROVAL. Thus, no standard in place and havoc from all parties. This is absolutely bad service and the lock-down cannot be blamed. AVBOB's reputation and experience should have counted for something ***
