Stanger Avbob bullies clients and then does not deliver.
My Father passed away on the 21st of December, we where referred to avbob to assist us. They where willing to assist I was sent to the hospital to identify the body and while waiting at the hospital i was told i had to get the cremation form from the doctor. After 3 and a half hour and several phone calls later the consultant at avobo admitted to not have given me the form and brought it to me. In the meantime my mother was at avbob to complete the paperwork said that she would do the death certificate her self, but after some bulling from the consultant my mother who was distraught from losing her husband gave in. the consultant did not explain the quotes to my mother and just told her to sign. due to the fact that i was not with her as i was at the hospital i was not able to protect my mother as well as i was not able to identify my fathers body thus did not have closure.
My father was cremated on the 26th of December and on the 28th and 29th we made several calls to the Stanger avbob office to follow up on when we could receive the ashes as my siblings and i needed to leave to return home. Every time we phone they said they would call us back and they never did it s as f after my mom signed the forms they did not care to give us service. eventually we received the ashes and death certificate from the Stanger office at 16H00 on the 29th just to see that the death certificate had a error on it.
My mom and I returned to the Stanger Avbob office the next day requesting that they assist us in fixing the error and they refused(after the service of registering the death was paid for) saying it is our responsibility to fix it our selves.
When we went to the nearest home affairs' office they could not assist us to correct the error as the death was not registered at that office. Avbob registered the death in Durban area(we do not know what office)
My mother can not go to Durban to sort our the error as she is looking after he elderly mother as well as does not have the funds to drive around Durban looking for the correct office to assist. Due to error on the death certificate my mother will not be able to receive her pension payout.
I called the Avbob head office to ask for assistance and was referred to the area manager in KZN, I called him and he was on leave and was referred to the Durban office that just never answers the phone.
I would warn everybody not to use AVBOB as they do not make things easy for the family of the deceased after they have received the funds.
I was contacted on the 6th in regards to my complaint, the person that phoned me was not even willing to listen to my complaint he said he read it and that is more than enough for him. he also said he would phone me back and to today I have not heard from them. They have not rectified the error or even apologized.
HOW PATHETIC!!!
