Poor service delivery from abvob

Khayelitsha branch B Brandon Majavia to ccarls 1 day agoDetails Good day To whom this may concern :

I am Brandon Majavia, Id number *** currently residing at 4 *****en Jacaranda Kuilsriver.

I would like to have the chance and explain my avbob experience.

My father suddenly passed away 12th of August 2020 around 23:30. The avbob funeral undertaker (Mr Karl Gabler) came to pick up the body of my late father Col Cedric Majavia he told us that my father will be taken to the eerste river avbob branch and everything is under control, he then was unavailable to meet from thursday to monday we wanted the funeral to take place the Wednesday. The friday my sister got hold of Mr Gabler and arranged a meeting for 12:00clock monday the 17th of August 2020, the monday morning around 9 am i got in my car and left to find out regarding the death certificate, me and mr gabler have made arrangements for the death certificate to be done the 17th August aswell early morning, i was on the road when i got a call from Mr Gabler and he told me i needed to leave my car at the Bp garage in Kuilsriver. I went ahead and left with him to the Khayelitsha branch upon arrival i asked him if my father was there, he **** and said no. I then got into a car with someone else that has also lost their father, and we left to Khayelitsha home affairs where i registered the death of my father and we went back to the Khayelitsha branch,he told me that i can either buy a casket for R29000 or rent one for R4500, i have to pay the rental amount into Mr Larry Gablers account, he then dropped me at the Bp garage to pick up my car.

We then continued to my home for our 12:00 appointment, at the appointment at our appointment i could see my family was not at ease because the funeral was supposed to be the Wednesday, he sent us a few pics of coffins on whats app. No brochure, no nothing.

He left my home and my aunty started calling around to find out of my dad is at eerste river, we then found out he wasn't there, but at Khayelitsha.

18th August we handed the funeral over to Royal funerals, we went to Khayelitsha to collect my dads body, upon arrival me and my aunt were asked to pay R6250 for them to release the body, we then proceeded to pay the money they asked for just so we can get the body and continue with funeral arrangements, we left to eerste avbob upon arrival we found my father laying in a trailer, i asked the receptionist if she is willing to give a statement, to confirm that they brought the body early that morning.

I continued liasing with mr Larry and Karl Gabler but he threatened me aswell over the phone and saying that the lady that was willing to make that statement wont have a job any longer, i told him that R6250 will not cripple me and that i will make sure that nothing happens to that ladys job.

I also informed him that if this doesn't get resolved, i will be making a civil court matter, aswell as maybe considering taking my story to the news paper.

Please advise what assistance do you need from me, i will do everything in my power to get justice ⚖.

Kind regards Brandon Majavia *** MFT Construction
