DESPICABLE, INCONSIDERATE, RUDE BEHAVIOUR FROM ABVOB

<p>My Mom, Louisa Holmes, passed away on the 21st March 2017. Avbob was called out. The following day we arrived at Avbob offices, 355 Hoof Road, Strand, Western Cape, tel 021- ********** .</p> <p>My brother, Wayne, was called into the office by a woman with short dark hair and Afrikaans speaking. I followed them to the office and went and sat down. This woman didn’t even acknowledge my presence; she was only interested in my brother as he was the one paying for the cremation. I informed this woman (she would never give us her name) that myself and my sister wanted to dress my Mom before the cremation in her favorite dress, as my mom was a private person and would not have wanted strangers dressing her. This woman blatantly refused to allow this and asked me if I have a problem with that. I told her I did have a problem with that because my mom wouldn’t have wanted strangers dressing her. She eventually relented and made us make an appointment for the 23rd to go in and dress my mom. Because my mother was born in Durban and spent her entire life in Durban, we requested that half the ashes be given to the other family members. At the office, in front of this woman, this was agreed to by Wayne.</p> <p>My Durban family then paid her almost for a cremation box which was approximately R400, for their half of the ashes to be placed into. This woman then took my name and cellphone number down and said she would also contact me when the ashes were ready for collection in order for me to collect the box with half the ashes of my mom, for me to send it to Durban.</p> <p>On Wednesday, 29th March 2017, I contacted this woman who told me that my Mom has been cremated and that they were just waiting for the ashes to be returned to their offices. When my sister called her an hour later, she informed my sister that my mom had not been cremated. She also informed my sister that our family is rude and that she will not be giving us the other half of the ashes as arranged. When my sister asked her why she had made her pay for a cremation box then and asked for a refund this woman said “I don’t care, you are all rude, you can come fetch the empty box. I only care about the person that made the payment!” My sister informed this woman that she was going to report her, as she has had a despicable attitude towards my family from day one and has made it clear to us on numerous occasions that she does not care about our family except for Wayne, as he is the one paying. This woman turned around and said “I care less, go ahead and report me!”</p> <p>We have just lost our Mother!! My family is going through torture over the loss and this is how the people who work for Avbob treat a family in mourning?!!! They care less for the grieving family and care only about the person paying?! What kind of a company are you that employs disgraceful, rude, inconsiderate people like this?!!! I am taking this matter to the newspaper as well. I have never in my life encountered someone as disgusting and rude as this woman.
