Avbob is there for your money

<p>In September 2016, my father passed away and I flew to Cape Town from abroad. I had my 6 month old baby with me, so I was stressed in more ways than one can imagine.</p> <p> </p> <p>My father's body had already been taken away by Avbob thanks to other family members. We met a consultant, a Mr Volgraaf (in Tygervalley) who seemed anxious and *********** (that was my initial judgement, but I had no idea how *********** he really was!). </p> <p> </p> <p>One of the things we were unhappy with was the careless arrangement of everything: Mr Volgraaf scribbled notes on a sheet of paper as though we were back in 1985. I cannot tell you how many times we had to call to check up on arrangements because he was just not up to the task (his job, not a voluntary act of kindness). </p> <p> </p> <p>The funeral programme looked like a primary school child ad designed them and as result, we had to pay a graphics design company to design the programme. The Bellville branch, where my father's body was kept, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since it opened. It was so revoltingly dirty I refused to sit down. But of course they were very hasty with their payment demands, despite the myriads of issues we had with their lack of service delivery. When we complained to the "owner", a Mr Jannie Jacobs, he was so horribly rude and arrogant it was unbelievable. His attitude was as filthy as the Bellville branch of Avbob! I will never forget his unapologetic, smug expression. Absolutely revolting attitude!</p> <p> </p> <p>On the day of the funeral, the one car that we didn't want arrived, as to be expected in line with the rest of the appalling service we received. </p> <p> </p> <p>I honestly haven't been able to write this review until now because the entire situation caused me so much distress that I didn't want to think about it. The only person who did her best to help us was the lovely secretary at the Tygervalley branch. Thank you for your kindness and your smile. You were the only decent person whom we encountered at Avbob.</p> <p> </p> <p>To others thinking of using Avbob: If you want awful service and you want to be treated disgustingly poorly, you will get your wish with Avbob.</p>
