******* and *****ulent service

I’m disgusted and disappointed to say the least regarding the settlement of my late son’s accidental claim for his funeral policy, which myself and my son had with Avbob. He tragically passed away on the 4 November 2023, having had a few other funeral covers from different institutions Capitec Bank (just to name one) who did not give me any hassles or a stressful experience when it came to settling me with the double cash payment when the death is deemed unnatural cause. However with what I received from Avbob was not what was promised in black and white on paper, having to query about the rest of the settlement amount which was not double in the case of how my son and what the postmortem report stated on his death certificate, as well as having also submitted all the requested documentation which included the shocking details of the ********** ****** of my son completed by the investigating officer, as well as including the investigating officer’s details who is in charge of the case. I was met with a distasteful response that I am to call the IO and find out if the case has been closed, yet nothing of that magnitude was stated when he was offered the policy, because when I called to find out from the IO how far the case was and how long will it take for it to be closed. He informed me that there is no specific time frame as to when the case can be finalised in court, as normally a case like this with killers on the loose can take not months but years for it to be closed. He mentioned the ridiculousness of Avbob having to expect not just any case, but a serious ****** case to be solved in a space of a few months now. The information that they have requested should have been enough to verify that this is an senseless and horrific act of crime that was done unto my beloved son. Now as a mother that is facing the most devastating and darkest point in my life after losing my one and only son, I am put through such unnecessary, horrible and draining experiences. Living miles apart from my son time and time again I would hear and read on the news about the killings that occur on a daily basis in and around Cape Town never in a single day did I think that one day it would be my sweet and humble son. Now tell me what if the case takes 5 or even 10 years to be finalised and closed by the magistrate, what guarantees that I will still be alive then, after having deducted money from myself and my sons account on a monthly basis for a funeral policy that has now failed to meet their end of the bargain on their service, is that not dishonesty and ******* under the law. It being 6months since my son’s departure and I am still made to fight for something that should have been settled to me the day I submitted the paperwork that was asked from me, now I made to be in a battle for what? However best believe that I will not let this go to rest without a fight up until I get what is due to me. I will expose Avbob with everything in me, sharing my story with all media houses and social media platforms for the *****ulent services and ******* to a grieving mother. I will be contacting my lawyer for assistance as I refuse to leave this lying down.

Dear Recipient

I am looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience regarding my complaint, having it to be resolved as soon as possible moreover me being settled the amount that’s due to me. It has been 6months in counting since his departure, from not having to be paid out the actual amount that was due to me for his death being accidental.
