Why is my account sent to Attorneys ?

I had a cellphone with Autopage, the account was paid up a long time ago. I received a letter from McRobert attorneys in August 2014 stating I owe an amount of R525. It came as a shock to me due to my knowledge my account was paid up years ago. I then emailed these lawyers at [Email Removed] but no reply till this day.<br> <br> I then went to Autopage branch in Cape Town to show them this letter, and the lady who assisted me said she cannot see anything under my name as it usually does when an account is handed over.<br> <br> Yesterday I received a call from a Lisa, saying she was calling from Gerahd Van Der Merwe Attorneys on behalf of Autopage. I was shocked as they were a difference attorneys now. <br> <br> Lisa informed me they received my details on Monday 30, and that I need to pay an additional fee from the R525 and its just over R1500. <br> <br> I told Lisa that I will never pay that money, as not a single person from Autopage ever contacted me, or sending any letters of me owing them so much money. Why wait so long, and to top it of, I used to receive my statement every month. Why they have never communicated this to me. Why the **** now they are harassing me. I need answers ASAP.
