Refusal to transfer number to Vodacom Pathetic!!!

We went to Canal Walk Autopage Cellular on Sunday 29 November 2015 @ 11:45am to go cancel an MTN contract that was due to expire in two weeks time. We arrived and found a long queue with one staff member and a trainee. We got serviced by the trainee where we asked explicitly what is the process to cancel the contract as it is due to expire in two weeks time and need to know if there is a notice period or if we need to settle an outstanding amount. The trainee confirmed with the other staff member that we can cancel the contract with an immediate effect and advised that there is no outstanding balance or notice period as they change the contract to prepaid.

We then went with the cancellation letter to vodacom and app**** for a new contract with the option to port the MTN number to Vodacom. A day later Vodacom advised us that they still had no response to the port activation from MTN / Autopage. We phoned the Autopage store on Monday where the manager advised us that they moved the contract to prepaid and can only move to a new contract after 90 days. Today 1 Dec we phoned again and got through to a rude manager who said they are in their rights and the person did wear a badge.
