NO WARRANTY REPAIR

My Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, screen cracked while entering my password pattern, phone was not dropped or misused in anyway. I then took my phone to Altech Gateway and submitted it to be repaired under warranty which it still is under. I have just been told that my phone is beyond economic repair, and is being sent back without being repaired after 30 days of waiting and with nobody at Altech being able to tell me what's going on! I am not willing to pay to get it fixed and either want it replaced or repaired as it was of no fault of my own and is a common problem with the Sony Z1 range as iv researched! I am extremely unhappy with the service. My Reference AUTO43606.
