Faulty phone/ refusal of cancellation/*** company

I walked in to auto page on the 25th September to open up my first cell phone contract, I chose my phone and the process took almost 2 hours to get everything done. Before leaving we were advised that the swim swop will be done in about 30 minutes and phone will be working, got a call 10 minutes later and it was sales consultant requesting old sim number as he had lost it and we were advised again phone will work in 30 minutes, Saturday morning comes and phone still not working so we go back to the shop, the sales consultant lost the sim number again!!! we were then advised phone will work in about 30 minutes. MONDAY comes and the phone does not work so I go back to the shop and the sales consultant states that he has done his job and the phone will work before 10:00 am on Tuesday (29th September) TUESDAY comes and the phone is still not working and I phone and advised I am not going to accept this as I see this as breach of contract, the sales consultant said thats fine if I feel that way.
