Barred cellph leaves me stranded on a rural road

I had a double flat last night traveling home from Cape Town. Was left stranded (woman alone) on a rural road as I couldn't call my roadside service (or anyone else for that matter) as Autopage had barred my cell. Was left there scared witless for hours until a kind Samaritan stopped to help. Tried to get behind the reason this morning as my account is up to date and had to make a total of 5 calls to just get service re-instated. Once the line was cut in my ear when I asked the agent for his name as he had mumbled it and I was unable to get it, 3 other times the line went \inexplicably"dead while I was holding for a supervisor. And finally being told my line was \""automatically hard barred\"" because I had made a EFT payment for the June account (in the midst of changing bank acc) and was then automatically listed as a \""cash account\"" and was cut because cash payments are due by the 15th of the month.
