You left a woman stranded today, AA! Answer your Emergency services line!

This morning my mother realized that she had a flat tyre whilst driving on the N2. She phoned me and asked if I could phone AA as she was trying to drive to a safe location to empty her boot and attempt to change the tyre on her own until someone from AA arrived. She has been a loyal AA customer for many, many years and has had no reason to doubt their services.

Therefore, I immediately phoned the Emergency Rescue Services number in order to dispatch a mechanic/ technician to her. I have been on the phone waiting for someone to answer for 15 min... This is totally unacceptable! What about the word 'Emergency' don't you understand? A woman was stranded on the highway, on her own, with no family members to help. We pay you for a service! You had better start answering your phone so that you can provide that service.

Dear AA team, Please do not bother. After I was unable to get through to someone on your EMERGENCY line, my mother continued to try for a further 30 MINUTES before someone answered (my mother spoke to one of your operators and managers and dealt directly with them). In the interim, she had managed to drive to a garage and sought help from the very kind attendants there. Due to this lack of service (which is not cheap, might I add) our family will be terminating our membership with you and using another service provider. It is unfortunate because all you had to do was answer your emergency line. I suggest you employ more call centre operators who can deal with the supposed high volume of calls you receive at 9am on a Monday morning.
