The AA - Still alive?? Poor service appear to be their trademark!

I have been a AA Plus member of the AA for 29 years. In recent months I have experienced incredible difficulties in getting service from the AA. It is difficult to contact them via phone; The give automated responses to e-mail but no further follow-up or resolution of your query; They no longer send AA qualified mechanics - rather outsourced transport to fetch your vehicle when you are stranded. Twice in Cape Town their outsourced response time has been unexceptionably long, AND they continue to get lost, so much so that on both occasions I had to make alternate arrangements. This will be the last year that I will be a member of the AA, and I predict that they will soon lose members by the droves, especially since there are so many institutions offering roadside assistance. I get the impression that the AA has come to an end of life situation. It is definitely NOT the AA that I grew up with.
