Ref 19/067 No accountability for damages to my car

The previous two engagements with the AA roadside assist team was a total disaster. We all pay for a service and expect professional and accountable service when we have car trouble. I would like to let the public know that the AA service providers outsource their services to third parties and refuse to take accountability for damages that occur to your car by these companies. • 25th Nov 2019 keys locked in the car, AA dispatched guys to retrieve the key from the car, 3 different individual came out to assist. • the first guy used a wire to unlock the car, he just opened the driver’s door, the alarm when off and left causing damages to the car (pics available) • the second guy arrived, opened the bonnet, disconnect the battery, reconnected and left with the alarm still intermittently going off. • the third person removed the back seats, extracted the keys, started the car and then left. The above was repaired after a lot of stress and inconvenience - I was required to hired my own car hire whilst the panel shop repaired the car. Totally no accountability for their poor service.

• 16 January 2020 the car battery was flat, AA sent out Unique Towing and Recovery to jump start the car. This jump started cause a electrical short. Nirasha Harigen requested I obtain a diagnostic test from Mercedes, at the cost R 1201.70. Months of back and forth, stress and inconvenience the claim was rejected.

I pursued the matter and finally have my car repaired and received confirmation that there was an electrical short.

I cannot believe that we may to pay a service fee for AA Roadside assist and when they break or damage your car they want you to pay for the investigation or car rental. I demand that AA return my R 1201.70 which they should have rightfully paid for a diagnostic to investigate if they are going to honor or reject a claim.

AA do the right thing and be the trusted name if used to hearing, I am eagerly waiting to hear from you to arrange my refund.
