Pathetic service from AA

On 8 August I called the AA and requested the use of the towing service for my car. First I was told that I do not have a valid AA membership. I renewed my membership in December 2018 and it should have been valid till December 2019. The second time that I called the consultant said that she picks up two sets of details for me and one of them is active. How is this possible? Can this be rectified so that I do not have to prove that I have an AA membership when I am in trouble and need assistance? I did successfully open up a case for towing after they found my active subscription. I waited for an hour and half and the tow truck did not arrive. After calling the AA to check back with them they said a tow truck was dispatched and on the way. The truck was travelling from the Umlazi area around 35km away from where I needed to be towed. I was in the Durban North area. After another 30 minutes I called again and was told the truck was a short distance away. After another long wait I got a call from the tow truck saying that he is somewhere in Kwa Mashu and cannot find me. He said that the AA did not give him a pick up address and needed to know the nearest school where I was. Luckily I was very near a school and was able to direct him over the phone. When the truck arrived I saw that it was not an AA tow truck but a shabby looking truck that most likely belonged to a 3rd party. I have used the AA before to tow a car from this location and it was always done quickly and safely with an AA vehicle. This was not the case this time. The tow truck driver was very haphazard and unprofessional. The tow truck driver told me that the AA did not give him the destination of where the car must be delivered either. I gave him the address in writing and he said that he will follow me there. I also explained to him verbally how to get to the approximate location. The driver sped off with my car even though he said he wanted to follow me. I eventually caught up with him but instead of following me he was taking his own directions and I eventually lost sight of him. He called me a short while later to say he is lost and cannot find the place wanting verbal directions there as his GPS does not pick up the address. I explained to him that I am not from the area and don’t know where he is so I cannot direct him. I asked him to use an address or intersection nearby the address I gave him which he could not do. He then became very rude and abrupt. The car was to be delivered to Combined Freight a large company in a well-established area in Pinetown a short distance from the Marianhill off-ramp. I eventually got the people at Combined Freight to call the drive and give him directions to their location. I then got a call from the AA with the owner of the Mbambos Towing on the line to say that their driver cannot find the location to fetch the vehicle. This is now about 3 hours after the towing company was dispatched and the vehicle was already fetched. The car was eventually delivered around 2pm to the destination. The case was opened at 9:17 AM. I lost almost an entire day for what should have taken much less time had a truck been dispatched from a location near me with a competent driver. I have been with the AA for a long time. Before my current two years I was a member more than 10 years. I have used the towing service a few times and always had AA tow trucks towing my vehicle in a professional and timeous manner. When did the AA start using fly by night third parties for towing. The tow trucks should at least have a working GPS or a map or contact with someone with a map should they get lost. If I wanted a fly by night third party to tow my car and wait for 3 hours for a tow why would I take out an AA membership? This has been a very negative and stressful experience for me and I am doubting whether I should ever continue my AA membership in the future. What used to be a well-respected and professional institute seems to be tarnished now with employing of *********** staff and third parties to run a service that I am paying a premium for you to do.
