Not the service you would expect, avoid!

Massively disappointed in the service I received from the AA recently when our car broke down.

3 and a half hours waiting in 38 degree heat next to the highway for a tow truck to arrive. The tow truck overheated twice too on the way to the garage.

What they don’t tell you is only 100km’s of towing is covered in the premium membership (200km’s round trip) so we had to fork out an additional R3000 to get it towed 280 km’s to a garage. Also they say a hire car is included but it’s more of a service. Hire car was dropped off with half a tank of fuel and we were charged An additional R700 for returning it with the same level of petrol we received it with. Also a R1000 drop/off and collection fee for receiving/collecting it in the same town. Apparently only a single day is covered by the AA.

Will be cancelling my membership and going elsewhere
