Non-claimable member benefits, ZERO roadside assistance.

The member benefits in the AA Handbook are not claimable. I tried to claim a member benefit when purchasing Goodyear from HiQ. 30% discount if you're an AA member. Turns out HiQ have no clue about this and the AA's customer service is non-existent.

When you actually have a need for roadside assistance their consultants will call you just to tell you that you're using their app wrong. Their app with really bad UI design, poor load times, unresponsive buttons. Then they will call you when their support vehicle is 2 minutes away only to tell you that they won't help your wife because they could not allocate payment to my membership even if the app says that my subscription is active. Rather just enquire from your vehicle insurance around their roadside assistance and stay FAR away from this once trusted South African institution.
