Misleading Spec-Savers \Special Offer'"
In March we received our tax invoice for our annual AA membership.
On it we saw 'Get R500 OFF at Spec-Savers .... when you renew your AA Membership before 30th April 2015'.
Although we live out in the country nowhere near Spec-Savers, we had planned a month away in June and decided it would be nice to make use of this offer. So we paid our membership before the end of April.
We claimed our Spec-Savers voucher at the end of May and when it arrived we saw in small print:
'The voucher is valid until 1 June 2015', This was The FIRST WE KNEW OF A DEADLINE DATE.
After querying this with the AA we received a letter from Reynard Medina (Sales & Customer Care Supervisor) dated 28th May saying 'As per our telephonic conversation regarding the spec savers voucher. Please be advised that the AA will arrange for you to use the voucher'.
We took our voucher (***) and copy of the communication to Shelley Beach Spec-Savers who said the offer was finished and refused to phone Reynard Medina.
A further email to Reynard Medina was not answered.
